Sunday's adventures....
Yesterday was pretty fun. Church was really interesting...it was like, a Chinese church's contemporary English service in a huge old-style church complete with stained glass windows and all. The sermon was good too...about deconstructing the Da Vinci Code. It seems to be that it's part of a series, and this time the pastor preached on the sources Dan Brown uses as historical references and their canonicity (is that a word?) and reliability, both of which are extremely questionable. I haven't read the book myself, so I don't really know what it's about...I've wanted to read it, but never got around to it partly because I lacked time and partly because I was a little apprehensive about its contents. It does seem like an interesting read though. After church, a group of us went to this restaurant on Sainte-Catherine called 3 Amigos for 49 cent taco day. Heh. They were pretty good, but I am most definitely not an authority on Mexican food. In fact the last time I had tacos was at the Crusade retreat in February, and the last time before that was at the Crusade retreat the year before. I can't even remember the last time before that. Anyways, they were really cheap and that makes them good too.
Last night was a really good time of worship and prayer up on Mont Royal. It was really encouraging to see that we all have the same burden to reach the Quebecois. This is a very lost province in great need of hearing the gospel. I could go through all the history of Duplessis and the Quiet Revolution to explain, but you can look that up for yourselves. As a result of all that history, the people have rejected Christianity and religion in general. They search continually for la bonheur without realizing that true joy is found only in a relationship with Jesus. Please pray for these people and pray that God will do something huge to bring this province back to Him.

Anyways, my throat is doing much better today, but I'm staying home and looking for jobs online rather than hitting the streets. I think I'm not used to the air here...Vancouver air is too clean!

Ooh, you found the top. Did you find any big sticks? :P

Hey jessica,
Hope your throat gets adjusted to the Montreal air quickly!
Everyone over here will make sure to pray for your job search and the project in general. It's nice to see that you have quite a lively group over there :D
